With reference to your letter of the 11.th instant, Jam directed by the Governor

to inform you that His Excellency regre to his inability to part with any portion of

& ground referred to therein, as it is used by the Volunteer for drilling; and,

moreover,

any building

on it would;

in summer, affect seriously the confort of those engaged in public work out the Government Offices.
